In this photojournalism project, I explored how students utilize university libraries by combining photography and investigative journalism. Using a DSLR camera, I captured a series of dynamic images that reflect the library environment and student engagement. To enrich the narrative, I conducted in-depth interviews with several students, gathering personal insights and anecdotes. Extensive research into library usage trends allowed me to present a comprehensive view of student needs and behaviors. My focus was on creating a compelling visual story that not only highlights the library's role in academic success but also emphasizes the diverse ways students interact with this vital resource. This project showcases my ability to blend visual and written elements, demonstrating skills in visual storytelling, interviewing, research and analysis, and technical proficiency with photography.
This info-graphic visually represents my research on the study habits of college students, highlighting the time spent on academic activities. I conducted comprehensive research to gather relevant data, then crafted an engaging and informative design. This project involved selecting an appropriate color scheme, writing concise body copy, and creating clear, visually appealing graphs to effectively communicate the findings. The info-graphic not only demonstrates my ability to analyze and present data but also showcases my skills in graphic design and effective communication.

Secondary Research for the Rutherford County Solid Waste Department
For my organizational research project with the Rutherford County Solid Waste Department, I conducted an extensive analysis focused on the pressing issue of landfill capacity. I reviewed a variety of sources, including financial records, news articles, past campaigns, and existing solid waste management plans, to gather comprehensive data on budgets, challenges, solutions, and previous attempts to address the situation. This secondary research aimed to provide a thorough understanding of the complexities surrounding waste management in the county, particularly as the landfill approaches capacity. Recognizing the urgent need to promote effective recycling practices, I developed a detailed report outlining actionable strategies to encourage residents to recycle correctly and reduce landfill waste. This project not only highlights my research and analytical skills but also demonstrates my ability to synthesize complex information to support informed decision-making in public policy.
